Baptisms
What is Baptism?
In Holy Baptism the Triune God delivers us from the forces of evil, puts our sinful self to death, gives us new birth, adopts us as children, and makes us members of the body of Christ, the Church. (from The Use of the Means of Grace) You can read Martin Luther's explanation of baptism here.
Baptism at First Lutheran
Anyone who has not already been baptized is welcome to be baptized at First Lutheran! We baptize infants, youth, and adults. Baptisms usually happen during the 10:30am worship service on one of our Baptismal Festivals (see dates at right). By specifying certain dates for baptisms, we are able to give baptisms the attention they deserve within that day's liturgy.
If you are interested in being baptized, or having your child baptized, please contact the office to schedule a meeting with a pastor.
