Good Shepherd Center
In the 1950's, members of First Lutheran who lived on the east side of town formed a daughter congregation, Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. Good Shepherd had a long and productive ministry. By the late 90's, however, there weren't enough members to sustain the congregation, and in June 2001, Good Shepherd merged with First Lutheran.
This property, now known as Good Shepherd Center, is used by First Lutheran for various special occasions, including summer outdoor worship and Vacation Bible School. The Chapel in the Woods, pictured at right, was created as an Eagle Scout project in 2001. The church building is also leased to various other ministries.
