Andrew Sords - Violin Recital

January 28, 3:00pm

Cleveland violinist and internationally acclaimed performer Andrew Sords returns to FIRST•music! The concert will feature Beethoven’s Kreutzer Sonata, Grieg’s Sonata in C Minor, and music of Brahms, Bloch, and Messiaen. Brian Wentzel, First Lutheran’s Director of Music, will accompany on piano.

Andrew Sords has received continuous critical acclaim for his performances combining ravishing tone and dazzling virtuosity. Hailed in the press as “a fully formed artist” (Kalisz-Poland News), “utterly radiant” (Canada’s Arts Forum), and “exceptionally heartfelt and soulful” (St. Maarten’s Daily Herald), Sords has appeared as soloist with nearly 150 orchestras across 4 continents. Continually diversifying his repertoire and appearances, Sords is respected as a charismatic performer, clinician, and recording artist.

This concert is free and open to the public. It is part of First Lutheran's FIRST•music concert series, whose goal comes from the church's vision statement: to "use our musical resources to enhance our experience of God and as a gift to the community."
