Wittenberg Choir

February 26, 3:00pm

One of Ohio's premier college choirs

The Wittenberg Choir, the premier singing ambassador of Wittenberg University, Springfield, OH, returns to First Lutheran to sing another wonderful and varied concert under director Adam Con. The choir will also sing at the church's 10:30 worship service in the morning.

Established in 1930, the Wittenberg Choir has toured extensively throughout the United States, Europe and Asia. Celebrated as one of the finest collegiate choirs in Ohio, the Wittenberg Choir was selected to perform for the Ohio Music Educator's Conference this spring in Columbus, OH. The choir is comprised of both music and non-music majors and strives to share its love of choral music within the university community and throughout the state. The choir has toured extensively throughout the US, and in May will be following in the footsteps of Martin Luther for a special celebration of the 500th anniversary of the Reformation. Director Dr. Adam Jonathan Con is the fifth conductor in the history of the Wittenberg Choir. He is widely recognized as an exceptional choral conductor, a visionary, a respected teacher, and a leader in the advocacy of music education.

This concert is free and open to the public. A free-will offering will be taken to support the choir's upcoming tour to Germany.

This event is part of First Lutheran's FIRST•music concert series, whose goal comes from the church's vision statement: to "use our musical resources to enhance our experience of God and as a gift to the community."
